Menlo Park Historical Association

The Menlo Park Historical Society, operating at the Menlo Park Historical Association, consists of a group of volunteers working together to preserve the history of Menlo Park, CA. The group focuses on collecting items from the town's past as well as protecting historic buildings. The group was originally located in the historic Gate Lodge when it was first created in 1974. Today, the non-profit organization continues to be active throughout Menlo Park communities. The association has many historical records, including a collection of photographs and recordings of the town's history. New memberships are always welcome.

Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts

This museum, operated by Stanford University, showcases diverse collections that include everything from Native American and African influences to European and Asian displays. Collections also include 20th century photography and drawings as well as contemporary art displays. Family activities are scheduled throughout the year.

Museum of American Heritage

Combining history and technology, this museum features lively tours and plenty of activities to keep kids fascinated. The museum takes a look at the evolution of technology over the years, using the Palo Alto and Menlo Park areas as an example. Admission is free. Group tours are available for a small fee.

California Academy of Sciences NightLife

A museum for adults, every Thursday the California Academy of Sciences offers a unique experience where adults 21 and over can enjoy music provided by a DJ or live band, sip cocktails and explore aquarium displays and exhibits. Special planetarium shows cap off the evening, along with special themes that just might include some salsa dancing.
